I’ve had my first submission published in a national magazine! I am so excited!!! This lovely card was published in the June/July issue of The Stamper’s Sampler. Back Pack Tags from Kandy's Keepsakes
I made these back pack tags for the boys in my daughter’s pre-school class. They started out as laminate counter top samples. I came across a bunch that were just going to be thrown away. So I sat down and decided to make these…
They measure 2 x 3 inches. I cut coordinating scrapbook paper to the proper size and adhered them with Quick Dry paper glue. I trimmed around the corners with scissors and used a sanding block to remove any uneven edges. I used walnut ink around each edge of the tag to give it a finished edge. Once the walnut ink was dry I applied the star and nascar or Spiderman stickers. I stamped each child’s name on vanilla cardstock and dragged the edges of the cardstock in red ink and adhered them to the tag. Next I added the binder ring and lastly added the ribbon for decoration.

Thank goodness the month of May is over! I have been so busy that I haven’t had time to stamp. That is no way to live. 
One must always take time to create. I plan to make June a month full of creativity. So check back often.
School officially ended this last Friday and I wanted to share with you a cute card that I made for my children’s teachers and cafeteria workers. I used the peacock stamp from The Angel Company’s Bird Cage set and stamped it randomly on purple cardstock with Pearlescent Purple Brilliance Dew Drop ink. I used the same ink and stamped the peacock on a piece of vanilla cardstock. On the lower left hand corner of the vanilla cardstock I stamped “thank you” from The Angel Company’s set Feel Better in Noir (Black) Palette Ink. I dragged the vanilla piece in the Pearlescent Purple ink and mounted on to a black piece of cardstock and then mounted both pieces to the purple card base. The Brilliance Dew Drop inks are gorgeous on light and dark colored paper. They really made this simple card design look elegant.
For the final touch I added this sweet chocolate treat inside the card along with my hand written message. It matched the paper perfectly.

I had the pleasure of meeting her this last January at The Angel Company’s Leadership Conference. She is a really sweet gal and it is fabulous to see The Angel Company feature her work. I just love how she stamped the different bugs’ wings, cut them out and made flower petals out of them. Very creative!!! Thanks, Riley, for the inspiration and the sharing!
