I just had to make another birthday card using The Angel Company stamp set Little Cupcake.  I used the stamps “cake” and word “Sweet”.  The patterned cardstock featured is from the Tutti Frutti Cardstock Collection.  I stamped the cake and colored it in with colored pencils, then trimmed it out.  I used the Stardust Gelly Pen to highlight the cake plate and the centers of the flowers.  Then I applied Crystal Lacqeur to the flowers to add texture.  I adhered the cake to the punched circles using Pop Dots.  As you know, I like my cards simple and sweet and I think this one is just that!

This is another image from The Angel Company stamp set Little Cupcake.  As I have said, I LOVE this set!  The card base is a piece of 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ white cardstock, folded.  I adhered 4 pieces of coordinating cardstock from Pop Rocks cardstock collection to the white card base.  Each rectangle measures 2″ x 2-5/8″.  I stamped “celebrate” (from the same stamp set) in the lower right hand corner and adhered a piece of chocolate colored ribbon across the middle of the card.  Next, I stamped the skinny cake on a piece of white cardstock and colored it with colored pencils.  I used Crystal Lacquer to highlight the chocolate frosting and Stardust Clear Gelly Pen to highlight the dots and candle.  You can’t tell from the picture, but the gelly pen adds a fine layer of glitter.  It is my latest “must have”.  After the lacquer dried I mounted the white cardstock to a piece of brown cardstock and adhered it to the card base using Pop Dots.

This original card design was from a birthday card from a dear friend of mine, Lesley Retherford.  She is an amazing rubber stamp artist and is always an inspiration to me… “Thank you, Lesley!”

I made this “sweet” little card using The Angel Company stamp set called Little Cupcake.  I ADORE this set!  It is full of my favorite images… cupcakes, cakes, and candy.  Making this card was simple.  It had 8 easy steps…

      1. Stamp the cupcake and sentiment in black on a a piece of 2-3/4″ x 2-1/8″ white cardstock.  Color in with colored pencils.  Use Crystal Lacquer to highlight the cherry.

      2. Round corners of white cardstock and drag edges in Iris Palette Ink. Lay aside.

      3. Fold a piece of 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ pink paper in half to make the card base.

      4. Use a Scallop Edge Punch to make the scallops on the 2″ x 5-1/2″ red cardstock

      5. Pierce red cardstock above scallops with needle and adhere to pink cardstock base.

      6. Tie brown ribbon around card (see picture).

      7. Adhere white cardstock with pop dots to card.

      8. Adhere red paper posie with glue dot for a final touch.

Owl Love Greeting Card

My new stamps from The Angel Company’s new catalogue have arrived and I’ve been putting them to use.  I couldn’t wait to use them.  I absolutely love the new owl set Be Square.   At $12.95, this set has 8 stamps.  5 different owls and 3 different sentiments.  The senitment on this card is from the stamp set What a Hoot.  At $17.95, this set has 12 different sentiments regarding owls.  It would complement any owl set that is on the market.

This cute card is great for many occasions… birthday, anniversary, I love you… I will most likely use it in a Valentine’s Stamp Camp or Stamp Club.  I used Prisma Colored pencils in color him in.  To make his eyes I used 2 heart shaped, red brads sized 3/16″.  I used a white gel pen to make the whites of his eyes after I mounted the white onto the red cardstock.
